About the Dillsboro River Company
Our fleet of ducks (inflatable kayaks) sit-on-top kayaks, and rafts provide something for everyone can enjoy paddling.

From large custom groups of boy & girl scouts, camps, schools, and church groups to the individual family or couple our friendly staff and great facilities will meet your needs.

We offer just two guided trips a day and boast a guide to guest ratio of 1 guide to 10 guests. (the best on the river) This means there is a guide in every other boat. We also include a light snack on the river and show you the best swimming and fun spots on the river. Our guides are also well versed in the cultural and natural history of the diverse Tuckaseegee gorge.

Depending on water levels trips average about two hours. All participants should wear adequate foot and sun protection while on the trip.

Dillsboro N.C. is truly the crossroads of western North Carolina. Just 15 minutes away to the North is the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. The Smokies have over 800 miles of hiking alone and if that is not enough the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forest have some of the best un-crowded trails with many waterfalls. To our East is Asheville, which is just 45 minutes, which host a number of events such as Belle Cher, Honda Hoot, Biltmore Estates and much more. Western Carolina University is a mere 8 miles to our south with the Mountain Heritage Festival and the Summer Arts Festival there is always something for everyone. Our surrounding communities of Franklin, Highlands, Cashiers, Sylva, and Maggie Valley all are within 15 minutes to an hour away and host the best cabin rentals and campgrounds in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Balsam Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway are just 15 minutes away and can lead you to places like the Pisgah Inn and the Grave Yard Fields and many more family adventures.

Dillsboro it’s self is truly a unique family experience with many places to stay like the Jarret House, Best Western River Escape and the Holiday Inn Express. Don’t forget about the Great Smokey Mountain Railway offering train trips daily to Bryson City and the Nantahala gorge.

We are easy to find just two hours north of Atlanta on 441 and 45 minutes from Asheville via 40 West to 74 West then exit 81 towards Atlanta and just one mile on your right.
